Job Spec: Senior Manager [Accountant]
The Role:
We are looking for an ambitious, high-achieving Senior Manager seeking a new challenge in a
progressive and forward-thinking Audit and Accounts Department. This position, reporting to the
audit/accounts director and directly to partners, offers opportunities for progression, challenging projects,
and learning and development in a collaborative environment. Excellent organisation, time-management
and communication skills are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
• Proactively manage client expectations and be point-of-contact for clients. Working closely with Director/Financial Controller/Senior Executive levels in managing the specific client requirements.
• Manage a portfolio of clients of variable sizes across different industries.
• Managing Accountancy Services to a bureau of clients which will include (but is not limited to): o Review of monthly/quarterly management accounts o Review of Unaudited Year-End Statutory Accounts o Advising clients with systems of financial control o Company Secretarial Advice and Compliance including Maintaining Company Registers
& Minutes where required
• Help drive the firm’s accounting technology strategy to best serve our clients and project manage the roll out of new accounting solutions.
• Assist with managing the team's financial performance e.g. agreeing and billing of fees; cash collections; monitoring recoverability of WIP etc
• Participate in the coaching, mentoring and appraisal of staff
This role requires an experienced, positive, self-motivated individual with superior organisational and
technical skills who can execute multiple tasks simultaneously to ensure a high level of professional
standards.
Skills and competencies required;
• ACA or ACCA with minimum 7 years PQE • Minimum of 5 years+ relevant post qualified work experience in practice with strong technical
knowledge and financial/management accounts experience • Proven management skills and behaviours • Excellent organisational skills, time-management and communication skills • A strong market/commercial awareness • Working knowledge of accounting software packages such as Surf, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or
similar with a high aptitude and interest for using new software • Ability to use and implement AI-based accounting software, accounting tools and connected app
functionality in house and to clients • Client-oriented with initiative, enthusiasm and problem-solving attitude • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with maximum discretion • Ability to exercise good judgement and decision making when necessary
